SevCol 16: The Green Hills of Earth

Dear crew members, ship security, specialists and passengers, SevCol is proud to present its first on-site role-play event of 2022: SevCol 16: The Green Hills of Earth, on the 7th, 8th and 9th of Oktober.

We have planned another on-planet event, and thus we will use the Scouting terrain of Skoltaro in Eibergen again.

We will start the larp on Friday evening. This would mean time for socializing with your fellow larpers, and helping us with preparations. It will also allow you to be on time for the early start on Saturday.

The Celestra heads towards Earth to finally visit the blue planet, after receiving their invitation to compete in the finale of the Universal Challenge! Crew members of the Celestra have earned their place in the final rounds of this Earth-based game-show by competing in a regional challenge, and now the whole crew has been invited to visit the New California studio complex on Earth. The Celestra crew has arranged some other ‘exclusive sight-seeing tours’ near New San Francisco to make the best of their time on Earth, so now everyone is preparing for this undoubtedly eventful trip! The crew hopes to finally find some clues to the whereabouts of the elusive Mr E while they are travelling the west coast, and get an opportunity to put a stop to the evil schemes exacerbating the political situation in the Solar system.

SevCol Online 4 – Dark Side of the Moon

Dear crewmembers, ship security, specialists and passengers, SevCol is proud to present its first role-play event of 2022: SevCol online 4: Dark Side of the Moon.

This will be our fourth online event. This event will still be entirely within Discord, and once again, it will take place aboard the Celestra.

The larp will take place on Saturday March 26th, starting at 10:00, and continuing (with a soft ending) at around 17:00 or earlier. We will have an in-character break around noon, during which everyone is free to take a break with or without turning their camera off, and having lunch.

On request of SevCol, the Celestra travels to Luna to quell unrest brewing in the colony. Protests and riots are breaking out on the Lunar surface, and recently, important space stations around Luna have been rendered out of commission by striking personnel. The Celestra crew has been in contact with many important factions in the colony, and might assist in reaching a solution.

SevCol 15: This was a Triumph

Dear crew members, ship security, specialists and passengers, SevCol is proud to present its first on-site role-play event of 2021 (and 2020): SevCol 15: This was a Triumph, on the 25th and 26th of September!

We have found a cool new location which we will put to the test with this event! This does mean that we cannot sleep on site, and as such we can provide sleeping arrangements with other players and organizers living nearby.

We will start the larp on Saturday, but we offer the option to arrive on Friday evening. This would mean time for socializing with your fellow larpers, help for us with preparations, and possibly time for simulator practice. It will also allow you to be on time for the early start on Saturday.

The event will only take place if the then-current Covid regulations allow multi-day events without a 1.5m social distancing rule and without mandatory face-masks. You are of course allowed to practice any personal safety measures you want. We do urge people to please register if you plan to come, and register early. Both for the peace of mind for us as organisers, and so that we will not have to cancel the event due to a lack of interest.

The Celestra has completed its tasks in Alpha Centauri and has traveled back to the Solar System. It is about to dock at SevCol station after a small delay (or two…). The news reports and messages that have reached the crew so far seem to be troubling, both on a personal level as well as on an interplanetary level. What new mission will there be for the Celestra, and how will the situation on Mars develop?

After an almost uneventful journey, the Celestra arrives in the Solar System. Many news reports have already reached the crew about the state of the colonies in the Solar System. The long journey to SevCol station, orbiting between Earth and Luna, allows plenty of time to catch up on current affairs. The Celestra’s course will take it past most colonies in the Solar System, allowing for real-time communication between friends, relatives and other contacts.

During the tedious journey from Alpha Centauri back to the Solar System, the Celestra exits a warpgate into an unusually lively bit of space between the gates.
Dozens of ships seem to be holding their position.

SevCol Online 1 – The Universal Challenge

Hello everyone,

First of all, we must disappoint you. It seems extremely unwise to us to organize a physical event in the foreseeable future, because we simply cannot guarantee that we can keep a 1.5m distance, while at the same time having fun playing AND fitting into a physical location.

What we can do, and what we’ve been planning not-so-secretly for a while, is an online-only SevCol event.

What: An event in the SevCol universe, where you can play your own character (or someone else).
When: Saturday, May 30, from 12:00 to 17:00.
Where: From the comfort of your own home.
How: With Discord, Empty Epsilon, and a lot of creativity.
What does it cost: An afternoon of your time, and zero euros.
What if I can’t participate?: No problem, regard this online-only event as a side quest (optional, but fun).
I want to know more: Cool! See the IC announcement below, and keep an eye on the new “Universal Challenge” channel on the SevCol Discord server (https://discord.gg/fKsEeF2).
Do I have to register?: Yes please! You can do it here: https://forms.gle/6qvRpJ9XKRNjWmGa9. If you have registered, you can talk to your fellow players in the ‘Contest-Chat’ channel on our Discord.

Hi there! This is your favorite quizmaster, Hansel van der Breeze! It’s quiz time!
Time to forget about the nasty news for a while, and join me in one of our regional challenges!
Will your team become the regional champion, and join me and the other winning teams in our studio on Earth? Are you capable of beating all competitors? Then join up for:

= The Universal Challenge! =

To participate in the challenge, you must sign up individually. You have to have a room where you can be alone, to prevent co-operation, which would of course be blatant cheating! Just before the start of the preliminaries, you will be assigned random team members from your region, and then you will face off against the other teams in several dazzling challenges! As a simulator will be needed for some of the challenges, a computer is required to participate. And a quick and creative mind is required for all tests!
Shall I see you soon, in your own regional challenge, and then in the flesh in our studio? I’m sure I will!

SevCol 15 is canceled due to the Corona virus

Hello everyone,

As of today, RIVM has tightened and extended the guidelines with regard to the Corona virus. Under these new guidelines and with the advancing situation, it seems very unwise, if not impossible, to organize SevCol on our planned date.

Because we do not yet know how long these measures will last, we can’t say when SevCol 15 will be held. Our plan is to have another poll among our participants by the end of the guidelines, to decide on a new date which is convenient for as many people as possible.

Entry fees already paid for SevCol 15 will be refunded.

Stay safe, everyone!

SevCol 15: This was a Triumph

Due to the Corona virus, this event has been postponed until further notice.

Dear crew members, ship security, specialists and passengers, SevCol is proud to present its first role-play event of 2020: SevCol 15: This was a Triumph.

We will be playing both on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th of March, with a pause for sleeping and breakfast in between. We will start the LARP on Saturday (10 AM), but we offer the option to arrive on Friday evening. This would mean time for socializing with your fellow larpers, help for us with preparations, and possibly time for simulator practice. It will also allow you to be on time for the early start on Saturday. Sleeping accommodations are arranged, but remember to bring your own bed or equivalent, sleeping bag, etc.

The Celestra has completed its tasks in Alpha Centauri and is traveling back to the Solar System. What news awaits them, as timely news from the Solar System was so hard to get these last few weeks?

SevCol 14: Trouble in Paradise

Dear crewmembers, ship security, specialists and passengers, SevCol is proud to present its third role-play event of 2019: SevCol 14: Trouble in Paradise.

This time, SevCol will start on Friday! We will be using the same event times as 7 Realms, as we will also be using the same location as 7 Realms. Thus, we will start on October 18th, Friday evening (time-in at 20:00), and end on October 20th, Sunday afternoon. The event will be held at the scouting terrain Skoltaro in Eibergen. Play will be both inside and outside, as there are options for people who want to go and explore the forest. However, there will be enough to do inside as well; not everyone has to go outside.

We expect that sleeping accommodations will be similar to what we’re used to, with us being able to accommodate pretty much everyone inside in the IC areas (indoors). There is also an option to bring your own tent (IC or OC) and sleep in there.

Please note that we absolutely require 25 paid registrations by September 27th, as well as at least 5 people to help on the Friday before the event with the preparations, for the event to proceed.

The miner problems on Kordoss seem to have been mostly fixed, and the problems with the space elevator seem to be pretty well under control.

But, those responsible for the destruction of Customs 3 are still out and about, and where has Dr. Henry Cotton been taken to? The trail leads to Eden, and the passengers of the S.C.S.S. Celestra are in pursuit.
