Recent events on Luna have escalated. Luna’s Leader, Tony Branson, is dead. After a devastating explosion in Tony Branson’s chambers aboard Luna Prime, the station was critically damaged and eventually imploded. In this power vacuum, several factions have risen to seize control of the colony. Now the DeFans of Luna and Red Moon Faction are struggling against each other, while the Endeavour Corporate Security Force is seeking to defend their valuable corporate assets on the moon. However, the civilians on Luna are caught in between the fires.

In the opening day, the crew of the SCSS Celestra played a pivotal role in the rescue of civilians in the wake of the explosion, fought off pirates and attempted to liberate critical facilities to aid the suffering people of Luna, for the greater good.

The Celestra is currently docked at the Greentree oxygen plant, held by the Red Moon Faction. The last few days were spent repairing systems, healing injuries and grieving lost friends and comrades. Now the repairs are nearly done and the wounds are stitched, where possible. Now is a time to choose the fate of Luna, and of the seven colonies

A short briefing on the in-game situation:

After a trade-and-transport mission from Jupiter to the Ceres belt, you have ended up on Mars Orbital Station. Developments in the Solar System have been moving along, already you hear people grumbling in the corridors and see the rising prices for consumer electronics. The news and discussion channels are abuzz about the legality and morality surrounding the recent events on Luna, and their impact on the other colonies.

Spending a few days taking care of personal matters, you awaken to find a message waiting for you.

“Dear Crewmember of the SCSS Celestra,
It has come to my attention that my vessel, the SCSS Celestra, is currently berthed at Mars Orbital Station. This is a most fortuitous, if unexpected course of events. You are hereby required and directed to prepare yourself and the vessel, which shall be needed to depart under sealed instructions at the earliest convenience. The assignment is one of utmost import and requires your personal discretion.
If you do not desire to partake in this undertaking, your absence shall be noted, but will not be held against you.

– From the desk of Mr. E.”

This just in: News update from Luna! (September 1, 2180)

We interrupt this broadcast of “BigShots!!!” to bring you an announcement from the Luna elected Governor Tony Branson himself. Following the recent troubles with Luna vessels he has released this statement:

My Fellow Lunites, Citizens of the Solar System.

For days now, citizens and ships belonging to the Luna Free State have been detained off-world against their will. This had caused billions of credits of financial damage in lost shipments, failed deliveries and seized vessels. Even more damage was caused to our people, hearts broken and families split apart for days. It seems like the SevCol general assembly did not contemplate one moment about the large scale consequences of deriving a “punishment” like this, not merely on our economy but on the lives of our citizens as well. I will personally make sure every Luna citizen has a way to come home in the next few days!

Furthermore, this unjust punishment for a victimless “crime” cannot go unanswered. With the damage to our economy and way of life, we can do no other but institute measure to protect ourselves. The duly elected government of the Luna Free State shall, from this day out, enforce our right to selective trade of products deemed critical to our continued survival.

To preserve our economy and society in the face of the unjust punishment, we have decided to restrict space lift, transfer and transport of cargo from Luna to vessels registered to Luna only. For the protection of our sovereign citizens, no cargo shall leave Luna space, unless it is aboard a Luna registered ship. Remember, this is our right under the Seven Colonies charter, it will stand until such time as we no longer feel economy threatened by outside parties.

That is all.
